The Boy Zone

Weleda sponsors The Model Zone at London Fashion Week Men’s 6-9 January

2017 will be the 10th anniversary of Weleda’s support for London Fashion Week (LFW) models, sponsoring the British Fashion Council project The Model Zone. After a decade of pampering the girls, this January it’s the turn of the boys during London Fashion Week Men’s (LFWM).

Just as the girls are spoiled in February and September each year, Weleda has created a little holistic haven for show weary LFWM models in The Men’s Model Zone. This is a private London haven where models can rest and recharge their batteries between castings, fittings and shows, and escape from the hectic schedule and media glare.

This relaxing retreat provides models with a nurturing oasis where they can unwind, kick their shoes off, eat healthily, drink plenty of fluids, and make the most of skincare advice and organic facials from the Weleda team Nisha Jani, Rachael Leffman, Siobhan O’Connor and Sarah Morgan.

The models have the chance to experience a special SOS Skin Food Facial – a 30-minute radiance restoring miracle worker with Weleda Skin Food. The facial skincare routine uses Skin Food as a moisture-boosting facemask, together with a selection of other Weleda products made with calendula, chamomile, rosemary, lavender and almond (which are the plant actives in Weleda Skin Food) to cleanse, massage, soothe and revive.

Models take home a ‘Fashion Week survival collection’ containing some prized Weleda Skin Food and other treats. Formulated in 1926, top models rely on this evergreen beauty to restore radiance, including the most famous male supermodel of all, David Gandy. For German model Pascal Bier, Skin Food is an essential in his grooming routine: “My beauty secret? Taking care of the skin with Weleda Skin Food, its perfect for me.”

Other well-known faces that enjoy Weleda skincare include actor Adam Garcia, Olympic equestrian champion William Fox-Pitt, television presenter Stephen Mulhern, and British model Andrew Cooper: “I was on a shoot in Antigua once and got seriously burnt, and Weleda Skin Food was the only thing that could sort me out. That stuff is awesome”.

As well as Skin Food, The Men’s Model Zone goody bag also includes a tube of the new Men’s Active Shower Gel, an eco shower scrunchy made from recycled materials, Weleda Aknedoron Purifying Lotion, and fragrant travel sizes of Arnica Massage Oil, Sports Shower Gel, Evening Primrose Hand Cream and Citrus Body Lotion.

Skin Food will also be working its magic backstage at many LFWM shows where it has become a staple in so many make-up artists’ kits. This season Weleda is sponsoring the skincare backstage at the Edward Crutchley presentation on 7 January, and Kiko Kostadinov’s show on 8 January.
